April Smith — named the burlesque bad girl by Paste Magazine

If you want people to believe in what you do, you have to show them that you love what you’re doing.”

This week’s Featured Musician, April Smith, wondered how she could “sneak” into her talented siblings’ world from a young age. Growing up she admired her brother’s band and her sister’s murals. As she grew older and began to take her place in the family, she developed a muscular, mellifluous voice and high-flying showmanship. Her songs and her playful performances win her fans all over and her band April and the Great Picture Show was recently named one of the “30 Bands to Watch” at Lollapalooza by Rolling Stone.

Her song “Terrible Things” was featured on Showtime’s Californication in it’s season three promo as well as in a season six teaser for Weeds. She recently extended her tour until August 1st, so if she is in your area you should definitely make it out and enjoy the show!

Check out April’s Talenthouse profile and learn what the buzz is all about! http://www.talenthouse.com/aprilsmith
