Pavan Ahluwaliais a self-taught Henna artist who is the Guinness World Record Holder for being the fastest in her trade. In just one hour she painted a staggering 314 armbands – where each design had to be different from the other – beating the previous record by a mind-blowing 100 armbands. At just 24-years-old, Pavan has worked with celebrities and massive names like Selfridges, Sky, STAR TV and the BBC on various high-profile projects.
Amidst all of her success, she has ambitious plans to present henna designing to a wider audience and take the art form to the next level. With a multi-cultural clientele, Pavan’s creative potential is infinite. Incorporating details like glitter, diamante bindis, and even coloured body paint into her fusion of bespoke designs, she transforms her intricate patterns into breathtaking works of art. It is these unique facets of her work that she will make the most of in order to garner greater exposure for henna design.
1.) Who or what has had the greatest influence on your art?
Fashion has the greatest influence on my art: jewelry, clothes, embroidery all help me with my art and music also sets a good mood.
2.) Which of your artistic achievements are you most proud of?
My Guinness World Record for being the Fastest in my trade
3.) Do you collect anything?
I collect stones and gems to incorporate into my work.
4.) What is the most important lesson you’ve learned about your career?
You have to love what you do in order for it to be any kind of success, if your heart is not in it don’t do it!
5.) How did you hear about Talenthouse?
When I joined twitter one day I just checked out the link and was immediately hooked! I love what Talenthouse is about and its an honor to be a featured artist.

Samantha Shefts always had a passion for art and design. With over 10 years of experience in the creative field, her work focus is in photo art direction and design, concentrating in fashion and beauty. Developing the right team of models, photographers, stylists, hair and makeup and choosing appropriate and exciting locations, enable her to generate an environment where creative minds are allowed to merge. Then taking those images and creating a layout that is both innovative and inviting to the audience.
Our Featured Artist in Fashion this week, Belinda Zollo, is a make-up artists, stylist, creative director, and mentor who has travelled all over the world perfecting her craft. She began her career in a successful beauty salon and soon discovered a creative flair for make-up. Many admire her for her ability to create fresh, beautiful looks. As the makeup director for Australian Melbourne Fashion Festival over a 5 year period, Belinda showcased her skills in design, leadership and team management. She has since had the privilege of working with the best in the industry for New York, Milan and London Fashion weeks.
Her work is regularly featured in global magazines and advertising campaigns such as InStyle, Vanity Fair, Spanish Harpers, Loreal and Benefit Cosmetics to name a few.
Nadia Masot has loved photography since the age of 12 and comes from an extremely artistic family. Photography acts as the greatest creative outlet for her and she enjoys collaborating with clients and various members of the industry.
She loves beauty, especially bringing out the beauty of another individual as there is beauty in everyone, regardless of their physical features. She sees it as her quest to draw it out, hence her favorite niche in her work is Beauty.

Frizzycube AKA Neil Nakahara is a photographer based out of New York City whose hunger for imagination and creative growth overrules any outstanding pressure. He is known for his mixed media of photography and digital arts and has been published a countless number of times. His career in creativity started with a degree in Cartooning and Illustration and eventually he found that something was missing, and that was photography.

Saima Altunkaya is a fashion photographer who first completed her classical studies in Germany and went on to concentrate on her real passion — art. She started to paint in acrylic and oil on canvas and paper and at the age of 23, touched a camera for the first time and fell in love. Since then she has worked as a photo-assistant and has recently moved to Paris to pursue her passions with beauty and fashion photography.

Sohrab Vahdat discovered his interest in fashion photography in Italy through his study of Interior design. This interest soon turned into a passion and he is currently studying a BA in Fashion Photography at the London University of Arts. His work has been shown on publications such as Dazed digital and Glitterati. Sohrab strongly believes that his love for art is reflected in the diversity of his Fashion and Beauty imagery.
Joshua Myles Ristaino is an ambitious hair and make-up artist who loves doing both equally — one is his medium for painting and the other is his medium for sculpting. A chance encounter with renowned make-up artist, Kevin Aucoin, is what sparked his passion for this form of art. Myles graduated from the Aveda Institute in NY and his sense of flair and avant garde has been seen on the runways during Fashion Weeks in London, New York, Miami, and Sau Paulo.

Tomaas is a photographer who shoots high fashion editorials, advertisements, and beauty campaigns. He was born in Germany and attended several European Unversities with a focus on Communications and Political science and eventually finished with a Master’s in Public Relations. He then moved to NY where he has been able to fulfill his dream of living and working there as well as pick up his childhood passion, photography. His trademark style is edgy, vibrant, and dramatic yet subtle.

Kristina McManus is a creative director and photographer from Texas who enjoys shooting High Fashion, Beauty, and anything that is creative and fun. She mainly shoots images for fashion advertising and editorial as well as beauty, glamour, and portraits. Always having an interest in beauty and fashion, she began her career as a MAC make-up artist and did everything from hair shows to magazines, album covers, and concerts.
