John Filipe’s Goggle Design to be worn in the 2010 Winter Olympics

Thank you to the hundreds of artists who sent in submissions for the adidas goggle design Creative Invite. Artists submitted for a chance to customize a pair of adidas iD2 goggles to be worn by a British adidas eyewear sponsored athlete competing in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Votes have been counted for the goggle design Creative Invite and adidas had the challenge of choosing a winner from the top 10 design finalists.

After much consideration, adidas has named John Filipe (Portugal) as the winner of the Creative Invite!

John had the following to say about his winning design:

This design is basically a dynamic adaptation of the British flag on the googles having in mind the keywords : speed, fire, and ice melting. The British theme in the design is subliminal. My intention was not to make it that obvious, but If you consider those as a representation of the British flag, then you can easily spot the British flag on the googles. But if you are not aware of the British relationship , they can still be a cool pair of googles.

Not only will John receive his portion of $20,000 prize money, his goggle design will be seen around the world and worn by a British Olympic athlete.

We would also like to congratulate our ten highest-voted artists who will receive their portion of prize money as well as a pair of iD2 goggles from adidas.

Thanks again to all artists who participated in this Creative Invite! Be sure to check out our other Creative Invites such as designing new covers for the ila DUSK personal alarm.

This is your house

Creative expression is who we are, it is how we relate to each other, it is how we express our greatest desires and fears, it is how we realise our dreams. Look around you – everything that is in your life right now was once an idea in your or someone else’s mind. This is the purest form of creativity. Pure thought, unencumbered by fear and doubt.  When we express ourselves creatively we are directly connected to the highest energies of the universe. The thing about what I am saying is that we all know this is true, maybe not in our minds, but all of us in our soul. All of us feel this connection to art and creativity at all times, throughout all of our lives. Just listen to your favourite piece of music, look at an incredible building or watch an amazing film and feel the direct connection between you, everyone and the universe. To quote the late Robert Nester Marley, ‘Who feels it, knows it ‘ and we all feel it, always.

This is why the internet is the ultimate tool for all creatives. Put simply it is the universal mind, enabling us to create our art, share with other artists and liberate ourselves, for all time. This is why we have created Talenthouse, a home for all artists.

Welcome to your house.
