American pop/rock band sets itself apart from its peers

starsgodimblog

We are happy to announce this week’s Featured Artist in Music – Stars Go Dim. They are an American pop rock band from Tulsa, Oklahoma who are influenced by the likes of John Mayer, Gavin DeGraw, Robin Thicke, and many more musicians. It has been roughly two years since the band formed and they are proving to be more than just a singles driven band. Through their consistent touring they have established a loyal following. And they have already shared the stage with high profile acts that include Switchfoot, Daughtry, and Sarah Bareilles.

Time and time again, SGD has proven to be a band that connects on an individual level through their songs and interactions with audiences. Now is the time to experience Stars Go Dim if you haven’t already. With a new emotionally charged album, incorporated media presentation and gripping live show, it will only take a few listens to understand why local media such as Urban Tulsa Weekly says: “It’s not a matter of if, but rather when this band will break.” Take a listen to them on Talenthouse here.

John Filipe’s Goggle Design to be worn in the 2010 Winter Olympics

Thank you to the hundreds of artists who sent in submissions for the adidas goggle design Creative Invite. Artists submitted for a chance to customize a pair of adidas iD2 goggles to be worn by a British adidas eyewear sponsored athlete competing in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Votes have been counted for the goggle design Creative Invite and adidas had the challenge of choosing a winner from the top 10 design finalists.

After much consideration, adidas has named John Filipe (Portugal) as the winner of the Creative Invite!

John had the following to say about his winning design:

This design is basically a dynamic adaptation of the British flag on the googles having in mind the keywords : speed, fire, and ice melting. The British theme in the design is subliminal. My intention was not to make it that obvious, but If you consider those as a representation of the British flag, then you can easily spot the British flag on the googles. But if you are not aware of the British relationship , they can still be a cool pair of googles.

Not only will John receive his portion of $20,000 prize money, his goggle design will be seen around the world and worn by a British Olympic athlete.

We would also like to congratulate our ten highest-voted artists who will receive their portion of prize money as well as a pair of iD2 goggles from adidas.

Thanks again to all artists who participated in this Creative Invite! Be sure to check out our other Creative Invites such as designing new covers for the ila DUSK personal alarm.
